Uncharted Waters

Leo gave a grunt as the bullet grazed his skin, more water filling his mouth. Once Chris pulled him out of the water, he bent double and coughed up the disgusting stuff onto the floor."Evidently..." He spat on the floor, making a face at the taste. "Very important." His hand reached down to his stinging calf, and came away bloody. "Shit," He murmured, although the wound wasn't at all serious.

"Yeah well I'm honestly beginning to doubt if we should be doing this " He replies frankly as he grabs a holster harness and straps it on ,then throws on a few bandoliers before graving an AK-47 and a small revolver that's just lying around.

Leo gazed at the collection of weapons. "I should probably mention that I've never held a gun before."

Chris sighs and tosses him the AK "You've watched enough movies you'll be fine , just be careful of recoil and when we're not shooting at people turn on the safety" He states and hands Leo a bandolier , before going to pick out his own gear.

Leo looked more than a little lost at all of this.

Chris sighs and continues grabbing what he needs "Look just stick with me alright?"

He studied the AK in his hands. "I have no intention of leaving you right now."

"Good" He replies , his gruffer slightly colder tone and yellow eyes indicating that yes ,apex is back out of his cage"

Leo glanced to him, eyebrows furrowing. "Oh, your eyes are yellow again." He didn't yet quite understand this.

Chris raises a brow "Huh ? Aren't they always?" He replies as he walks onto the porch and fires back with his AK , taking out the two who spotted them without even blinking.

"No," He said, and recoiled when he saw the two going down at Chris' hands. "What are you doing? You can't just kill them...!"

"Why not? They were trying to shoot us and we haven't even done anything " He replies gruffly , slinging the AK over his shoulder and going back into the shack to grab another canoe.

Leo stared at him, mouth slack. He had never have thought Chris capable of this... something was very clearly wrong. He set his jaw. "Your eyes are green. Chris, why have they turned yellow?"

Chris frowns , a strange purple pigment beginning to form around his eyes , like what you'd see around the eyes of a vciper "What are you talking about?"

Leo stepped up to Chris, reaching out to place a hand on the side of his face, thumb briefly grazing the skin near the far corner of his eye. "What is going on?" His voice was firm, yet his concern was palpable.

Chris inhales deeply ,the pigmentation fading "I...I dunno myself to be honest , it happens from time to time in these situations"

"You killed..." He cleared his throat. "You killed those two men like they were nothing."

The pigment begins to resurface and Chris grits his teeth "They were going to kill us! What else was I supposed to do?"

He frowned. "Anything but that."

Chris frowns , eyes meeting Leo's , they are pure gold , with slits for pupils "What let you get shot?"

Leo didn't think pointing out the fact that he sort of already did would help, so he avoided bringing it up. "It is not me you should be worried about," He said gently, thumb grazing his skin gently again.

"Yes ,yes you are , you're my boyfriend " He replies frankly as he pushes the canoe into the water.

"I'm not the one having an identity crisis," He replied, hand on his hip.

"Neither am I , I just did what I had to" He replies as he gets I to the boat "Now c'mon more will becoming soon"

Leo frowned, and hesitated. However he eventually decided he'd rather not stay here like a sitting duck and climbed in.
