Even when he had moved her head up to look at him, her gaze had still wondered. However, when he continued her eyes found his. He had nice eyes, she realised; she had never really paid this much attention to them. The patterns amidst the swirling golden iris reminded her of a flower. Her own eyes were glassy, shimmering with the horrors she had witnessed. They were filled with guilt and grief and shame. But also fondness and appreciation for the person who had stuck by her all this time, through everything; her pupils dilated as she looked up at him.
She was silent for a time, processing his words, losing herself in his gaze. He was now all she had too. She had to be strong for him, she realised. For both of them. She had to fight through the darkness that threatened to consume her. Wordlessly, she gave him another, significantly drier, hug, this time for him rather than herself. "I'm sorry," she whispered, voice cracking. And she meant it; she shouldn't give up.

The reply is just as shaky , as though Chris had nearly though she'd simply shake her head and walk away "Thank you"  he replies in an equally quiet as he holds her close , as though desperate to keep her near, fearing that she could just fade away at any moment. Like Matt had, like Vi was doing now....they were all that was left, and no matter what happened, he was not losing her. "Oh God, I though you were gonna leave" He murmurs out his tone shaking as he lets out a relieved sigh.

Devi also clutched at him as if he were the only thing keeping her alive. He was. He truly was. She'd be nothing without him. "You can't get rid of me that easily." It took her a moment to speak, as if waiting until she knew she'd be able to talk without breaking down. Her voice was low, monotonous, her heart clearly not in her attempt at humour.

She took in a breath, before loosing it through her teeth. "Can I... Stay at yours for a while?" She asked very carefully. She didn't want to seem to clingy, or intrude on his personal space too much. But she had no where else to go, other than staying at some dead stranger's house.

"Huh? Oh yeah sure fine " He replies casually as he pulls away from the hug "You know while I really do appreciate the hugs,if you could be just a smidge less intense my ribs would really appreciate you" He half jokes as he puts a hand to his side with a goofy grin.

Relief washed over her, but she wasn't sure why she had been worried. She gave a half hearted smile at his joke, and murmured a "sorry."

She nodded, before heading back towards Crow to thank him for everything he has done to help.

Chris exits the cave before her , silently waiting on her bike for her to finish up with Crow, he doesn't know what to do, he loves her, like really loves her. He wants to help her in any way he can , she's gone through a lot lately, friends leaving, watching a brutal murder. She seems like she could break down at any moment, and he doesn't want to walk into his house and find her dead somewhere, hopefully this all works out.

She gave him a quick hug, before going out to meet Chris. She hopped on the back of the bike, and wrapped her arms around his waist.
