Jason nods happily and grins, "Do us all a favor then, try and find a way to lay off the people then? See if you can't find a way to get your hands on some cash and eat here?"

Zegrath gulped nervously. "But it's become a habit now." he pouted.

Jason frowns at him again, setting aside his fries he stares at the younger man, "Work on breaking it then. People don't deserve to get eaten Zeg. You said that folks where afraid of you for what you are? Prove them wrong, don't give them a reason to be afraid."

Zegrath growled. "It's easier said than done! I can't help it! How would you like always being hungry and getting aggressive at the smell of blood?! It'll make it hard to resist for you too!" he shouted in his face.

Jason chuckles, low and menacing, "You think I don't have that problem?" He grins at Zeg, "You know what I am, you can smell it. I have the same bloodlust as you Zeg, I just learned to control it better. Though I had someone to help me, and I'll owe her for that forever." He looks out the windshield and sighs sadly, "Truth is kid, I had a brother like you, he had a habit and it killed him. Made him run his truck right off the mountainside into a lake. Doc said the impact didn't kill him, that he drowned. He was your age, and even if I don't know you I sure as hell don't want you ending up like my brother, you hear?" He winces internally at using the sob story to try and scare Zeg out of cannibalism

Jason sits still for a moment, wondering what the heck that's supposed to mean, looking into the back he raises an eyebrow again, "So what? Now you're gonna pout?"

Jason shakes his head, "You're a grown ass man, now get back up here and talk to me like one. Not hide in the back like a scared little puppy." He glances down at his (semi)clean seat, and grimaces, "Besides, you're getting fur all over my truck"

Jason sighs again, "You realize you have to get out of the truck eventually? I got work in the morning and I've gotta be home soon." He checks the clock on the dash, realizing its almost midnight, "Correction; I was supposed to be home an hour ago."

Jason's easy going demeanor shifts slightly, his eyes now doubly wary and very protective, "Now why would you want to do that?" He doesn't seem hostile, just worried about being a self professed man eater into his home with his two small children. 'Besides,' he thinks, 'they're probably in bed by now and Allison's pissed enough as it is'

Jason runs his hand across his face, man this kid is strange, "Tell you what, I'll let you meet them some time just not tonight, to late for that. Todays Tuesday so so what about..." He scans his brain for his schedule, "Thursday afternoon, I'll swing by after work and maybe bring you up to see them. Just gotta give the wife fair warning is all."

Jason smiles reasurringly, "Well to be honest she's a little pissed with me right now, needs a day or two to calm down. Not to mention clean the house and to prepare for you, dinner and such that is." he leaves unsaid that you don't bring a Grim Stray home unannounced for dinner

Jason grimaces inside, this might be harder than he thought, he starts driving back to Zeg's cemetery, fishing fifty bucks out of his wallet as he does so and offering it to Zeg. "For food until Thursday, don't want you eating anyone between now and then. Hopefully after too."
