Tombstone Stranger

Post by Bella on Sun Oct 16, 2016 9:01 pm

Zegrath hadn't been a Grim Stray for long but he still felt that he was unwanted by everyone. Some days he visits his parents' gravestones and just whimpers and stares at them but he kills someone whenever he gets the chance to. Tonight he sleeps alone in his wolf form beside a pile of his victims' bones, waiting for his next meal. Hunger made his stomach growl and he hated it. He needed to eat something!

Jason strides among the tombstones, he got into an argument with his wife earlier and needs some time to think. Normally he'd go to the park but tonight the graveyard seems more appropriate. As he walks he looks curiously at the tombstones that he passes, trying to imagine what the people who now rest beneath them lived through, what they where like. Unwitting he passes Zegrath's den, whistling softly under his breath as he goes

Zegrath lifted his head, his white eyes glowing in the darkness, as he spotted Jason. He silently stood up and followed after him, hiding in the shadows of each tombstone. With Jason's next step he steps on a bone which looked like a human femur. It was at the foot of one of the graves. Zegrath took no notice of Jason's supernatural type, he was only concentrating on one thing he'd been waiting for - a meal. After a while Jason can feel like he's being watched.

Jason crouches at the sound of a crunch beneath one booted foot, carefully he lifts the now cracked bone, noticing the tooth marks up and down it and its human nature. "What the hell?" He straightens, casting nervously about as he feels the eyes drilling into him. Hands steady he reaches into his jacket and withdraws a large hunting knife, the steel glinting in the moonlight as he begins to back track towards his truck, eyes now alert

When he turns around he spots the shadow of a dog in front of him, but what shadow moves, growls, and has glowing white eyes. He then realizes what he was seeing in front of him. Zegrath saw the large hunting knife but that wasn't going to deter him from getting his next meal. He growled and charged towards Jason, trying to leap onto him and bite his neck.

Grunting Jason reaches out one hand to stop the Grim Stray's leap, catching Zeg by the throat but not managing to stop his momentum. Jason was always a big and strong man, and werewolfism has only enhanced his strength, but Zeg's leap sends him sprawling on his back, and his knife tumbling from his free hand. Jason grunts again as his back hits the soft ground, his second hand quickly joining the first on the wolfs neck as he grimaces and tries to reason with him, "Calm down! I'm a werewolf! Like you!"

Zegrath growled savagely and tries to bite Jason's arms that held him, he succeeded in biting his wrist but that didn't do any good. He felt blood on his tongue and it felt so good. The Grim Stray ignored his words and tried to pull out of his grasp, yelping as he lost some fur in the process.

Snarling as the Grim Stray bites his wrist Jason heaves the beast off of him and into a stone mausoleum, then stands, cradling his wrist as he does so. "What the heck is wrong with you?!?!" Then he remembers what his wife said about Grim Strays, many of them are insane. He casts about for his knife then sees it, half way between him and Zeg, "Shit..." Jason looks between his foe and his weapon, then runs for the blade

Luckily for Jason the impact of hitting the stone mausoleum gave him enough time to grab the knife. Zegrath yelped loudly as it scraped his shoulder and hurt due to the impact. He then recovered and stood up, growling savagely again and charging towards him to attempt to deter him from grabbing the knife.

Jason snags the blade in his uninjured hand and levels it at Zeg, snarling as he does so. He doesn't want to kill the Grim Stray so he stands his ground, trying to ward Zeg back with the knife

Zegrath backed away from the blade and stopped behind him, standing there between Jason and Jason's truck. He bared his fangs and charged towards him again, trying to outsmart him and stay away from the knife.

Stepping to the side like a bull fighter Jason opens a long slash along Zegrath's side with the knife, then squares off with him again, "I'd rather not kill you, but if you don't calm down I'll have no choice hoss." Slowly he begins to maneuver towards the truck again, his hammer and his knife are both inside, both better weapons for this fight than a hunting knife

Zegrath yelped and backed away, then looked at his side as it started bleeding and it showed on his black matted pelt. He backed away fearfully from him, refusing to fight for now. He licked his lips, showing he was hungry, but then limped behind one of the tombstones. He whimpered and whined in pain as he wasn't at all used to being wounded. He was less insane than most of his kind.

Cautiously Jason advances closer to Zeg, keeping his eyes pealed for deception and his knife ready to gut the Grim Stray if need be. The whining clearly tugging slightly at his heart

Zegrath whimpered fearfully and backed away more, a slight limp in his step. He didn't try fighting or running, his eyes didn't show any aggression, in fact, they shown only fear. He lowered his ears and his tail went tucked between his legs, a sign saying submission, but he kept backing away.

Still cradling his wrist to his chest Jason kneels down to Zegs level. He sighs resignedly, "I know there's a person in there. Come out so we can talk" his free hand still clutches the knife tight despite his words

Zegrath stood there confused almost, he understood the first part but he wasn't exactly what someone would call social. He wants me to shift into my human form? he thought in dismay, but his gaze drifted towards the knife. But in that gesture the message was clear - "drop the knife".

Jason shakes his head and chuckles, "I drop the knife and then you tear my throat out. Be nice for you wouldn't it." He smiles grimly "Knife stays friend. But tell you what, you can have my solemn word as a werewolf I won't go at you with the pig sticker"

Zegrath backed away a little and whimpered sadly in pain, he really wanted him to drop the knife but apparently his "victim" was too good at being determined. He frowned a little and growled a little before he limped behind a tombstone and shifted into his human form. He wore a black flannel shirt, blue jeans, his hair was black and messy, and his eyes were a greenish color. But despite his shifting, he didn't speak a word, he just stared.
