Re: Rise of humanity: The Saga Of Steel

The Lord Regent wrote:"Well let's not keep them waiting, we're burning Daylight." Arden said leading the way, so long as everyone played their parts it should work out fine, what he was most worried about was the Mage, he hoped Rowan would be able to handle him, Rowan  was a powerful wizard, but Arden new Elven mages were quite powerful as a rule. Arden drew his sword and spun it so he held it by the blade instead of the hit, half-swording a technique Vesryn may not have seen before as an elf.

Bow at the ready Vesryn turned in the direction of the tower, ready to head up, but Arden's actions made her turn back to him. She quirked a brow, wondering if he had gone quite mad, holding the blade rather than the hilt. She had certainly never seen such a technique before in her life, and whatever reason behind his doing so was completely beyond her. "Why do you hold your blade in such a queer fashion?" She questioned.

"You'll see, you just worry about snipping that warmaster, before it sees us." Arden said as the tower came into view.

She hesitated, face set in an incredulous expression, before she focused back to the task at hand. She increased her pace, nocking an arrow while she did so, in order to shoot him dead before they would be able to spot Arden. She lowered to a crouch as she crept closer, hand drawing the string to touch her lips. As the Warmaster came into view, she lined it up for a headshot and loosed the arrow.

Arden grinned as the the undead, and elves were alerted, he charged the undead knights as they charged the group. He swung the hilt of his blade at the knight on the right piercing that one's helmet, and head with the crossguard, before throwing him into three of his fellows. The fifth tied to stab him it the face with a sword, but Arden caught the blade in his greaved hand and smashed its helmet with a downward strike from the pommel of his sword. Clearly this style was made to deal with armored opponents, Between the blunt force of the pommel, and the piercing power of the cross guards that is clear.

Rowan meanwhile Rapidly fires four burning mystic bolts at the battle mage.

Once the warmaster was down, Vesryn studied Arden's technique with a curious tilt of her head. It made more sense now, his reasoning behind it. Perhaps she could learn a thing or two from him. Dragging her attention away from him, she loosed two more arrows in order to give him a bit of a hand. Morina did the same, firing blasts of concentrated magic that clung to armour and burned at exposed flesh. She did this sparingly, however, so she wouldn't accidentally hit Rowan or Arden.

The mage dodges using his natural elven agility, his eyes narrow on Rowan as he gathers magic into his palm and releases a large magic shock wave.

Rowan blocked the shockwave "VESRYN Help out!" He called to her as the other Elf swordsman probably the warmaster's apprentice charged him from the side. He meanwhile kept his magic barrier up and began an incantation, or pretended to anyway, his real goal was to draw him to closer to him, so he was ready to drop the incantation if he has to.

Vesryn's gaze spun to Rowan, and her aim switched towards the other elf that was charging at him. She set her jaw, before the twang of the string pierced the air and an arrow appeared right in the centre of his forehead. She couldn't have hesitated when she realised she would have to kill another of her kind again; such actions would endanger her or the group, and she was unwilling to be the one to let them down.

Arden drove his be down with unparallelled bight through the helmet of one of the downed undead, as the other two began to rise to their feet. He wrenched his blade from the helmet, and skull of a dead knight, and re adjusted his grip on the blade as he faced the last one. "Okay ya'll can help Rowan deal with that battle mage" he said making short work of the last knight

Rowan completed his incantation, and threw a goddamn lightning bolt at the Elf, which the guy's elf agility would certainly not help him with. The battle mage had really chosen the worst possible response. Had he began and incantation of his own, or tried to close the gap he might have won, but standing there throwing magic bolts at his barrier was something of a poor decision

(Didn't ves used to kill her own kind for money, as an assassin?)

(She killed the very bad people. The people she has killed since were just following orders, so she doesn't know what they are like. I'm fairly certain I've already said this in a post.)

Morina focused her spells on the battlemage, though her aiming wasn't particularly good, and she missed a few times. She was very careful not to aim anywhere near Rowan, however. Vesryn did the same, loosing an arrow towards the mage.

The elf blocks it with his glowing palm, absorbing the lightning and redirecting it back.
