Playable Races

1: Supernaturals are made by the same type of supernatural strong enough to give this gift/curse.

Vampire: The human will be drained from blood and the siring vampire gives some of their own to turn the human into another vampire, process is not too painful as a lot of people are usually unconscious when it happens.

Werewolf: The human will be bitten leaving a biting mark, then they slowly turn into a werewolf, the first transformation to wolf form is painful.

Mage: The human will be placed in a ritual circle and the powerful mage imbues them with raw magic and the process is extremely painful.

Angel: The human will be blessed with light by an angel to ascend into becoming an angel, the wings grow slowly and is a bit painful.

Demon: The human will be damned with darkness by a demon to transform into a demonic being, the more demonic one transforms into the more painful it is to grow claws, horns, tails etc...

Fey: The human will be covered by magical dust from the wings of a powerful fey turning them into a new fey.

Skinwalkers: This ability is rarely spread and is mostly something you're born with from being part of a select ancient bloodline .

2: Special types of supernaturals can be created, these are more powerful than the standard ones especially as they have a special ability. These types are very rare and many would want to use their powers for their own gain, or worse a special one will use their powers for something nasty. (Only player characters will be this type and some powerful villains, start using your imagination dammit but withing reason. We can speak and brainstorm ideas with others if help is needed.)

3. Supernatural subspecies, every Supernatural race has one subspecies (except Nekomini). The subspecies may differ from the main ones, look and ability wise. But subspecies are usually looked down upon by the main ones due to the differences and take them as outcasts or as unclean versions.

4: Supernatural species have certain abilities that make them special.

Vampire

An undead being that mostly looks like a human with pale skin and fangs and sleeps during the day, they lust for the blood of the living and seek it out to slate their thirst. Most vampires can be quite civil and even live peacefully in human cities, some may live outside of civilization and form vampire covens and most covens are usually formed by a powerful vampire that has turned all the others into vampires. Though mostly they act civil there is always the chance that a vampire may go feral and become nothing more than a monster that seeks blood and doesn't listen to reason, they are a danger to all as such behavior attracts Supernatural Hunters. Fledgling vampires are weaker than old vampires and so don't have access to all abilities until their vampiric powers mature, fledgling stage stays for 5 years.

Positive

Superhuman strength (Still less than a werewolf) - Fledgling vampires can only overpower humans
Somewhat enhanced speed (becomes super speed at 80)
Can smell blood
Walk on walls and ceiling - Available when vampire is 20 days old
Merge with Shadows - Available when vampire is 100 years old

Blood lust (gets easily thirsty when smelling blood) - Fledglings more prone this
Weaker in sunlight (not able to access all their powers, blinded by the sunlight easily, has to drink blood much more often...) - Worsens when vampire is over 500 years old
Weak to fire - Worsens when vampire is over 500 years old
Weak to Dead Man's Blood (pretty much poison that robs them of their power)


Special

Blood Bond: When allowing/forcing another (either another vampire, human or some other supernatural) to drink their blood a blood bond is formed between them, the drinker will become loyal to the vampire and thus serve them faithfully. The bond allows them exchange emotions and thoughts together like orders or just speak.

Vampire Monster: The vampire can become much more powerful when taking a form of a vampiric looking monster (appearance differs from vampire to vampire) by abandoning logical thinking and allowing only their instincts to drive them.


Subspecies - Nagaraja

The vampire subspecies that instead of drinking just blood must eat the flesh of humans to ease their hunger. They are descended from a group of necromancers who sought immortality through vampirism, instead of though becoming a lich, however being a supernatural type, and thus unturnable by vampires they attempted to turn themselves with their powers of necromancy, and got it... mostly right but also lost most of their mage powers in the process and not getting all vampire powers either. Turning someone into a Nagaraja is the same process as a vampire but the sire must be a Nagaraja.

Special

Necromancy: Boosts your Lesser Necromancy to be even more powerful, allowing you to summon even more powerful undead creatures like a full-fledged Necromancer and eliminates your weakness as to having weak Necromancy.

Compulsion: One can control the minds of most creatures of this realm by locking eyes but sadly angels, demons, and undead are immune.


Werewolf

A creature that mostly appears human but is actually half-wolf, these powerful beasts usually live away from civilization somewhere in the woods forming pacts. There are some "lone wolves" that prefer living like a human in the heart of cities peacefully, though that can be hard with their animalistic tendencies and the fact that they are more stronger and faster than normal humans. Mostly they mind their own business and stay away from causing trouble some werewolves may go feral and start hunting and attacking anything that moves, this sort of behavior is a danger to all as it attracts Supernatural Hunters. New werewolves have trouble controlling their beast side, experienced and born werewolves have mo issue with it. Currently werewolves have begun to find a new niche in the army where they are easily accepted for their ferocity and mastery of pack tactics.

Moon Howl: The werewolf can let out a howl that summons wolf spirit companions (or summon your werewolf pact companions if have one) to keep you company or fight with you.

Beast Form: The werewolf can become much more powerful when taking the form of a monstrous wolf creature (appearance slightly changes from werewolf to werewolf like fur color, size, eye color, ears, tail, claws... etc...) by abandoning logical thinking and allowing only their instincts to drive them.


Subspecies - Grim Strays

Kinda like werewolves but their wolf from is usually black with white glowing eyes and their nature is much more feral as these Supernaturals are more commonly insane or in the brink of insanity as they hunger for the flesh of mortals. The ones that have already lost their humanity usually hang out in abandoned graveyards and forests, waiting for unsuspecting prey to walk to their territory to be eaten alive.

Stare of Fear: When locking eyes with someone, that person starts to hallucinate all their worst fears and more, making the prey unable to run away in time.

Freezing Death Bite: When getting a bite on someone, that part of their body will freeze in an icy cocoon. If the Grim Stray is still holding on the ice will gradually move forward and soon freeze the victim entirely. (May not be effective on things associated with fire.)


Mage

Mostly just humans but still more than a human as they have the ability to control magic, mages are almost able to do anything with their powers and arcane knowledge that they possess. Prefers a civil life living in a nice house or apartment somewhere but sometimes can live in places away from civilization to have some peace and quiet when practicing magic, some may form wizard or witch covens to practice magic together. New mages must go through hard learning to master the magic they want to, their magic is also weaker until they have practiced it enough.

A young mage (ages 8-13) will have between one and five spells depending on age and talent.
A somewhat more mature mage (ages 14-19) may have between one and ten.
A younger adult mage (ages 20- 34) may have between one and fifteen spells.
A mage passed his youth (35- 60) may have between one and twenty spells.
An elder mage (61+) may have memorized up to twenty five spells.
Finally an ancient mages who has lived for centuries may know no more than thirty spells.

Subspecies - Arcanist

Unlike a common mage who cast their magic by instinct, the arcanist does so through hard work and intense study, and they want everyone to know it. While the must go to far greater lengths to cast spells (copying them down in their spell book), the Arcanist can use any spell they have the exerience to cast and have coppied to their book instead of relying on a handful of spells they can't change. The Arcanists se themselves as the true masters of magic, and other mages as simple talented dablers. Their egos are often enlarged by their often high status in society, and wealth

Pocket Dimension: Can create their very own pocket dimension that has their own set of laws of nature and physics, the dimension looks exactly what the Arcanist wants it to look like but the world has its limit and that would be its size as they are small and no other creatures live there. Usually used as a place to hide, or study in peace.

Between Two Worlds: A Arcanist with this ability can make themselves become a ghostly entity for a limited time to see the Spirit Realm and interact with it, some may use this as some form of safe travel as they float from place to place and become physical again somewhere else, some just use it to research the Spirit Realm.


Angel

Divine beings from Heaven, the swords and hands of God on Earth or so it is assumed but most angels in Heaven obey their Arch Angels. They appear human but with wings on their back, an angel that loses its wings becomes a "fallen one" and can't return to the world of light. They can live like humans in cities or even own their own property or just return to the world where they originate from. Angels are not entirely made from humans, they can also be born from an angel couple (or a demon-angel couple as long as the mother is an angel)  but Heavenborn angels look down on Earthborn angels as they think they are better than them and mostly their ideals conflict with each other making these two sides fight each other. Angels also fight demons as they both need the souls of others to gain power, angels gather the souls of already dead people from the Spirit Realm.

Resurrection: The angel can bring people back to life (how one uses this depends on the person, it can be twisted but it can only used once on a person, there is a limit to life after all).

Purity: The angel takes on their true form (appearance depends on the angel) to become much more powerful.


Subspecies - Nephilim

Angel/human hybrids, born from an angel/human couple on Earth. They look like any other angels, or may look completely human as to not having wings if they weren't born with them but still have angelic powers on their side. Due to being half human they cannot become dark angels, and so cannot absorb souls for power like an dark angel.

Can fly and at amazing speed (only winged ones have this) - Available to Nephilim over 20 years old
Travel between worlds (only winged ones have this)
The ability to sense when being decieved or lied to.
Superhuman Speed (can run up to 50 mph)

Specials

Disguise: The Nephilim can have the power to change their body and face to someone else's, they also replicate their voice so it is the perfect disguise to fool others but they can only disguise themselves as humanoid creatures and not animals or monsters.

Excalibur: Summon the legendary holy sword that can kill with one single blow, no matter who you are against. (Can be swung only once and then must recharge powers before summoning again and beware of missing your target.)

..Finally they have the option to.

True Calling:After reaching the age of 25 a half angel has the ability to pick a true calling , a job that will give them certain abilities , for instance Guardian Angel (can grant blessings to their ward human , and are incredibly strong and tough) , Angel of Death (Can ferry the souls of the passing to an afterlife safe of Demons and Corrupt Angels , and can kill humans with a single touch) , Angel of War (Can forge mighty blessed weapons and armor for their brethren , and have an innate sense of how to use them) , Angel of Knowledge (Heightened intelligence and information capacity , learn much faster than others , can translate any language without effort) , or Cherubim (Can manipulate the powers of love and lust )

Demon

Dark beings from Hell, usually appear human but they may take different forms to disguise their true intentions. Usually perceived as cruel beings that enjoy slaughtering the innocent and manipulating others into a cycle of wrong doings just for their amusement or for gaining something. Demons won't hold back on their desire for destruction and death even against their own and so "in-fighting" is common among them, but even the most kindest of demons has the urge to kill something and watch it bleed from time to time. They are some of the most targeted beings by Supernatural Hunters and Angels. Also demons are not entirely made from humans, they can also be born from a demon couple (or from a demon.angel couple as long as the mother is a demon) or what I like to call a 'Mother Demon'. Demons absorb souls from Earth to gain power, if a demon that has absorbed souls will be killed the souls can be claimed by the one who killed it or set into the Spirit Realm.

Dark Contract: A demon can create a contract with another being (use your imagination what the contract is about).

True Form: A demon can unleash their true form (appearance depends from demon to demon) to unleash their full demonic power.

Friend on the Other Side: If a demon some how manages to create a good intimate bond with another the mortal , the two can become linked and fuse together to create one incredibly powerful being , whether that be through the non-demon summoning the demon as a weapon , or simply the two combining. This mode is temporary but incredibly powerful.



Subspecies - Half-Devil

The Half-Devil is born from an human/demon couple, despite being only half demon they can still pull a punch with their demon powers. They always have a humanoid appearance but with demon like body parts like horns, wings, claws, eyes, tail, skin etc... Some may look more human than others so it varies a lot. Since they are only part devil they are less aggressive than full demons but cannot absorb souls for more power or even possess humans.

(Use your imagination) - Additional skills like fire breath, poison claws etc... are available when the Half-Devil is at least of adult age and more complex powers are gotten when their age is around thousands

Can't become a Demon Lord

Special

Demon Armor: Encase your body in an armor that resembles the demon you are so you look like a full demon to intimidate your opponents. The armor makes you stronger and protects you for a limited time until it cracks and grumbles to the ground.

...or as another option...

Forsake Heart: Abandon your humanity for a short while to gain power that can almost rival a Demon Lord but you become nothing but a raging monster for this time that doesn't make distinction between friend or foe. Those that have this may have trouble controlling their demonic power and go to this state randomly.


Fey

Beings that look very human except for the pretty wings on their back and perhaps even a bit pointy ears, they prefer to stay close to nature as that is where most of their power comes from but some may want to live among humans as they enjoy the luxury. Usually very peaceful creatures but some may turn into playful mischief or even worse cases but that is considered rare among them, but due to the few bad apples not all trust them. Mostly depicted as weak and frail but even a fey can surprise from time to time with their fighting skills or magic abilities. They've had a hard time adjusting to this new age of smog and steel and have unfortunately begun to either recede back to the faraway wildernesses or die out.

Nature Spirit: A fey can call the help of powerful nature spirits, like ground, plants, trees, rivers and mountain ones (how they act depends on the fey's needs).

...or as another option...

Day Dream: A fey can spread their dust on someone to put them in a state of sleep but still awake, the victim usually relaxes and is susceptible to suggestions from the fey on what to do and the victim can't remember what they did in this state of the mind.


Subspecies - Yokai

The Yokai are creatures of Japanese lore, they are closely related to fey, but are far more diverse in a manner akin to Demons, or Nekomini. They take the appearance of various races, humans, animals, sometimes things more demonic in nature, and occasionally hybrids. This is not but their appearance though, and they are shapeshifters so their “True” form is a reflection of their own personal nature. They are often mischievous or malevolent but a few are at least somewhat benevolent. They are often more comfortable in their true form but other wise they are not made to stay in it.

Oni: This is a special type of yokai with a form somewhat demonic they gain demonic powers possibly black magic or physical strength, but will be forced to flee if they encounter a monkey statue.

Sharp Spirit: This Yokai has spirit magic on par with a Wizard.


Skinwalkers

Humans bonded to the ancient Kanienhaga bloodline , who were blessed by The Raven god and The Coyote god  millennia ago with the ability to change into the form of their spirit animal , as a way to protect them from the many dark creatures that lurked in the night. They are sworn to protect their fellow humans from those creatures that would wish to prey on them , whether in the public eye or in secret.

Special

Animal Soul: A Skinwalker can summon an aura of their spirit animal to aid them in battle or to guide them in their decisions.

Control Beast: A nekomini can control the animal type they are (works on werewolves too).


Mutants
Mutants are not a new phenomenon, but with magic infused technology, and enchanted items becoming more common in society their numbers have increased dramatically. They usually suffer from physical and/or mental deformities, often both. Most mutants are exiled to the lawless and harsh deserts of the western United States, from there the ones that can prove their sanity can obtain permits to live and work in various countries. However due to their often severe deformities typically making them quite ugly and the atmosphere of fear towards mutants they are little more than second class citizens.

Pros
While the mutants tend to gain various physical and magical traits they are random and none are universal. One may gain the ability to cast spells, another may be able to read minds, another may be bullet proof or frail as a human and another may have the strength of a werewolf and speed of a mature vampire.
 
Cons
Harmful mutations are just as common such as an immobile third leg.
You are shunned by most humans and high society
Most cops don't like you either

Specials: Due to the wide range of mutations there aren't really defined special lists for this races since they are just humans mutated by exposure to uncontrolled magic 

Void Touched
The Void Touched are those who have obtained powers from contact with void energy, most of them are part of cults that worship various powerful entities of the void. Void cults are not an isolated phenomenon, but the stories of the cults are often remarkably similar; an isolated town often experiencing some sort of crisis, a drought, famine, raiders, or something along those lines; one night either a town leader, or the entire town experience a prolific dream that would appear jumbled when described to an outsider, but make perfect sense to the towns people, coinciding with this the town’s problem is solved,  a great rain that lasts for a day, crops healthy again over night, or raiders struck dead by mysterious means; whatever the specifics the town gains a new god, a god that must be thanked and appeased with blood rituals. And then the town begins to change, what once might have been a friendly town welcoming of outsiders becomes introverted and distrustful, they become strange to the point most can’t interact with outsiders for any period of time, they begin practicing strange magic unlike the magic of wizards or fey or even demons; it is a magic reliant on will, mental force, and often blood; perhaps most strikingly their very appearance begins to change some develop scaly patches on their skin, some growl tendrils, others (often the leaders) barely look human in any regard. There are exceptions where one is able to turn their back on a cult and leave their home town’s madness, or is exposed to void energy in other ways, but cultists make up the majority.

Specials

Starlight: Summon bolts and blasts of burning bright energy that can cause burning concussive force. The strength of the energy is based off of one’s mental force; for some it can melt steel, for others it causes 3rd degree burns.

Blood Telekinesis: By sacrificing a bit of your blood you can channel your mental force directly at someone, short bursts of the power usually don’t require much blood, but one may faint or even die from prolonged use (levitating something for too long, or trying to lift something too heavy (Such as a car).

Term Explanations

Demon Lord: One of the most powerful demons in existence, they have their own areas to rule in Hell as well as servants and their very own armies.

Mother Demon: A female demon that solely exists to give birth to other demons, the Mother gives birth to 80% of Hell's demon population since a lot of demons kill each other so they keep a sort of balance in population. They may be independent and just give birth to demons they like, as in they have some control over what their children look like, or they may serve under a Demon Lord to give birth to their armies or even be married to a Demon Lord. They usually lay tons of eggs and the areas they live in can be covered in those until the day of hatching or they can lay one egg at a time and they can solely take care of all the eggs on their own but if under the rule of a Demon Lord may have egg caretaker servants. The children inside the eggs can mature fast inside the eggs, Hell is no safe place even for a child so a majority of them may hatch when in adulthood but they will only have all the info that their Mother knows at the time as it passes down on them. Demon Lords usually signal their interest for the Mother Demon by gifting them a tiara to tell them that they want marriage, but if they only look for her services they gift her with a dress that is specialized for their body only and help dress on it usually bearing the colors of their banner and everyone else who is not a Demon Lord may give them whatever they think she might like to show interest.

Arch Angel: A powerful angel deemed worthy to rule an entire area in Heaven, they are majestic and charismatic. They have their own servants and are usually the only ones that are allowed to draw power from the souls in their respected areas to keep a steady flow of power, they can also control the minds of the zombie like souls to some degree but usually leaves them alone to enjoy the "paradise".

Fallen One: An angel that has lost its wing/wings and can't fly anymore, without them they cannot travel to Heaven and so are called fallen.

Dark Angel: Still an Angel and can use angelic powers and abilities but may oppose the Arch Angels and absorb souls for more power like demons do. A dark angel can get rid of its corrupted state by appeasing to an Arch Angel who will then decide to bless them or not.

Heaven/Hellborn: Demons and Angels that are born in Hell/Heaven and lived there for some time, identifying these worlds as their home.

Earthborn: Demons and Angels born on Earth, either by truly birthed naturally or by making a human into one.
