Epona had started appear to be weakened from the lack of supplies and it is starting to show, she was mostly clinging to either her mother's side or near Parath to protect her from the wind when it carried sand. When they reached the area where her mother stopped and gazed around worriedly, her blue eyes widened. "Mom? What's going on?" she asked her before gasping as she saw the scene before them. She ran to her mother's side and hugged her. "What are we going to do?!" she asked, tearing up mainly due to fear.

As she spotted the scene, Parath's nose started letting out smoke and her fangs were bared and she was growling lowly. She noticed how fearful and exhausted Epona looked and since Arden was no longer with them it technically was her duty to take over defense. Who'd want to mess with a fire-breathing dragon anyways?

Veronica had kept her distance away from the queen since she had felt she was hated by her most of all. She glanced around before pulling out her longsword and taking up a defensive stance.

Shadow noticed the sands moving before most of the others, with his assassin senses, which are Definitely a thing, and he totally wasn't staring at epona's legs. "parath, dragon time!" shadow exclaimed as he drew his katana which he knew would slice through a skeleton like a hot knife through butter. Although these were clearly no human skeletons, there were two main sizes, most appeared 3 to 4 ft and, about ten percent were closer to seven feet tall, their bones were rather thick, their  teeth sharp, and their skulls long and slanted.  some had weapons that had survived the centuries or millennia, bronze curved blades, others had no weapons, but the group was still badly outnumbered at least ten to one, tough odds even with parath,  Shadow wasn't gonna die here though, he made himself believe he wouldn't  anyway

Meanwhile in the north Rowan heard Vesryn's question  explained to her "In the religious traditions of most humans, Alma is a goddess who represents creation and life, the event we are witnessing has been seen only once by my kind, Before we built swords and castles the event was recorded by ancient shamans. It is called Alma's tears, because what you're witnessing in the sky is pure necromantic energy, a perversion of life and creation" Rowan said glancing at Ves and Mori "Such power can cause the spontaneous animation of the deceased, they come back broken, and hungry to destroy the living, The guild never found out how it is invoked, but it is likely invoked via some sort of dark magic."

Emron took out his own shortsword as he stood next to Veronica, he was going to try and protect the caravan like the others.

Javek was ready to cast spells if it came to that, but he stayed close to the civilians to keep them safe although most of them had weapons now.

Ysabel, grabbed Epona's wrist and pulled her back away from the battle. The queen would only be a hindrance, being completely unsuited for battle, and there was no way she'd let her daughter be endangered. With her long range weapon, it would be better to be farther away anyway.

~

Vesryn didn't turn towards Rowan when he spoke, her eyes too fixed on the strange emerald sky. Although, she nodded along at all the right places to confirm that she was both listening and in taking his words. How strange it is, to have a deity who is said to create life. Vesryn didn't believe in such nonsense; she doubted any being would have the power to create such complex worlds, and the creatures that lived in it, not even dragons. But it helped some of the weaker minded from being permanently in the state of an existential crisis at the thought, "If not dragons, then how did it begin?" Though Vesryn didn't waste time with such questions; even if she did stumble across an answer, it won't change anything about the world. A soft smile tickled her lips, a green tinge from the light staining her light skin. "I take it we are going to put said necromancer in his place?"

~

"Oh, dear god this isn't good," Morina muttered, pacing erratically. A necromancer could easily overpower their own manpower by creating armies of the undead, which is really not good news for anyone. As if the world didn't have enough problems, someone just up and decided "hey, I'm gonna go raise some dead people today." Mumbling incoherently to herself, she continued her pacing, though if one were to listen, they'd probably be able to pick out words such as "We're f*****" and the occaisonal prayer to Aage, the god of safe journeys.

"I will take first shift," Vesryn said, perhaps too immediately for it to be inconspicuous. She didn't trust the new comer at all, but she too would generally take first watch anyway. And with her fantastic night's rest, and the eerie feeling she got from the cold and smoke, she wasn't terribly tired.

~

Mori glanced to Rowan when he spoke, before she plopped back down on the ground. "If I die because of you, I will come back to haunt you," She warned, though the threat coming out of her mouth was about as intimidating as a growling chihuahua.

"If it's on the way, we'll put it down" Arden said to vesryn, the elven invasion took priority, but he'd like to look into it if they could on the way "we should keep someone on watch tonight, we'll  take shifts "normally i'd take first watch but i'll take last tonight" he said with an involuntary yawn

"We'll be fine mori" was all Rowan said, he seemed calm, and unconcerned with it all, just thoughtful "We have magic and one of the best swordsman i've ever encountered

one of the seven ft tall skeletons with a bronze curved long blade, singled out Ysabele and epona, and ran after them

Shadow cut a single one in half and backed up to parath as the civilians and most guards were quickly cut down by the skeletons overwhelmed completely

Ysabel's gaze narrowed on the skeleton that had targeted her and Epona, eyes widening slightly. "Run!" She shouted, grabbing her wrist again and sprinting off. Being as old as she was, Ysabel wasn't made for running, and so was terribly uncoordinated and slow.

Breath, sudden gasping ,wanting breath, as though he had none before, he feels his heart restart the bumps growing louder and louder with each passing moment, suddenly he rises, liquids splashing as he sits up to find himself in some chemical pool. He's , he's alive, wait....does that mean he was dead? Yes,yes now he remembers, that elven woman, they were sparring and she had put a sword through his stomach. The liquids flowing around him are an emerald green ,smokey tendrils of mist floating around him as he gets up and examines his wound, it's gone...and he's alive. Perhaps this is his fate then ,but by Unwe above it can't be ,this....this is terrible, he was dead yet now walks.

Fortunately for ysabelle the skeleton kept tripping over stuff when it was about to catch them

"Parath grab any survivors, and let's fly, you can roast em from above!" shadow suggested hoping onto the dragon's back

Arden was already asleep

Meanwhile rowan smiled slightly at mori's threat "Oh, will you wear that dress I like? I think such a haunting would be my pleasure" he said to her though he hadn't said much to her all day, only listened when she spoke, which was quite a bit

Parath nodded in agreement. "Queen Ysabel, Princess Epona, get on my back!" she shouted but by then she didn't see them. She glanced around before turning towards the others that were still within eye-sight. "Emron, Javek, Veronica, you 3 climb on too and I'll try to keep airborne!" she shouted towards them as well.

Veronica slashed multiple skeletons in half with her longsword, she didn't hear Parath's words.

Epona kept running with her mother and only when they tripped did she realize they were too far from the group to see them.

Ysabel thanked her lucky stars the skeleton was more uncoordinated than her, and somehow her and Epona managed to keep ahead of it. For now, at least.

"It's not for your pleasure!" Morita cried. "It's for vengeance for you causing the literal death of me. Now if you don't mind I'd like to sleep."

~

Vesryn smiled softly at Arden immediately falling asleep, though couldn't help but wonder why he was so tired. Evidently he didn't get as much sleep as she had last night, which the fact Ves had ended up near lying on could have something to do with it. Oops.

Rowan couldn't help but chuckle as he too laid down in his sleeping bag "I'm not going to let anything hurt you mori" he said with a yawn\

As the pair ran eventually all  sight of the group was lost, and five minutes of running later a bolt of green magic struck the creature in the head causing it to rot and decay away, so the creature died

She scoffed, but laid down to sleep anyway. She usually enjoyed staring up at the glistening stars sprinkled over an ebony sky, but now it was swallowed by those cold, green tendrils that caused the dead to rise again.

~

At the flash of green, Ysabel forced herself to increase the pace without turning back, lest it be something equally as unpleasant as the undead demon pursuing them. So she kept running, not looking back even when the creature fell. She didn't know what they were or why this decided to happen, and had no logical explanation for the green smoke, save for, of course, magic.

"I would ask that you stop now miss you're headed right for another group of them" A calm voice came from a figure not too far away, it was tall and lanky but it fface could  not be made out, yet it wore robes and carried a staff

Rowan looked at mori pondering if there was anything he could do to make her fell better "Probably not" he decided in his head

Ysabel stopped in her tracks at the sound of the voice, head swiveling to check on the beast that was no longer behind them. When she was assured their life was no longer in danger - by that one at least - only then did she give the stranger time of day. "Who are you?" She demanded, the years of her ordering people about coming through in her voice. "Are you the one causing all of this?"

Epona looked at the stranger with wide eyes. She clung to her mother fearfully.

Parath growled lowly. "We lost the queen and the princess." she told Shadow.

"No ma'am I just live around here, this is the result of far more magic than i can bring to bare, it is the green light in the heavens waking the unquiet dead" The figure patiently explained it clearly did not fear these creatures, necromancy was an important part of his spiritual duties, and the undead did not make him nervous "If you would allow miss, i would escort you, and your daughter to the safety of my village

Shadow nodded "Save the others then we'll look for her"

Parath was waiting for Veronica.

Veronica saw where the others were and climbed onto Parath's back.

Epona gulped nervously and glanced towards her mother and then back towards the stranger. "How do you know I'm her daughter?" she asked them suspiciously.

"Quiet, epona, " Ysabel said. It was a stupid question; they both shared many features. "If you would be so kind.." she said to the man. Although she didn't trust him, she felt he was better than the alternative.
