"You're far too badass to be so emo..." shadow chuckled putting a hand on paraths horn to guide her

Piri just chuckles but than many more footsteps are heard "I think your roar attracted some hunters"

"It's what I do"Shadow said to her

"Nope? No one else hearing all those footsteps and cpthe clanging weapons and barbaric screaming...must just be me ,maybe I'm getting dehydrated "

Meanwhile Arden notices the somewhat sullen if relieved mood people were displaying at eponas return as well as what looked like anger, or perhaps empathy from Vesryn of all people which left him quite worried as he whispered to Vesryn with a somewhat playful nickname" hey big ears what'd I miss?"

"Big ears?" Vesryn responded, arching a brow as she turned to look at the knight. That was a new one. His breath tickled said ears as he whispered to her, causing a smile to play on her lips. She sobered up quickly, however, and loosed a sigh. "The princess was raped," the elf stated bluntly, her gaze returning to the girl in question.

Arden frowned and looked over to see how Epona was fairing" that is all too common in these parts, if we had the time and the resources i'd say we slaughter the tribes as we cross them"

"We will even if he don't have the resources," she replied softly, her gaze still glued to Epona, though she seemed to be looking through the princess rather than at her. Or rather, Vesryn will slaughter them if no one else wishes to waste what limited resources they had. If she does it, though, it won't be at all pretty. It would be one less waste of oxygen to roam the earth.

"You're not going off alone on some quest to wipe out all the tribes in the pass there are dozens"  Arden protewted

"Well Parath, you gonna burn them to ashes or?" YPiri questions as the hunters get closer.

"I'd like to see you stop me," she replied, turning to look at Arden. Her expression was slightly more light hearted; a brow raised, and one corner of her lips raised in a half smile. Dozens... A few a day, depending on how many members each had. She doubted they would have very many, considering how cut off this place was from society. Perhaps she would discover some useful loot.

"I said you're not doing it alone because I'm not letting you go on any fool quests" he gives her a stern look which twists slowly into a smile as he adds" without me"

Vesryn was about to make some scathing remark about how he had no right to give her orders, especially when her mind was already made up, and there was little anyone could do to stop her. But her lips raised in a sly smile as he continued. "It's a date."

"I need to see these people out though, so we'll split off and deal with the tribes as we pass through their territory if that's alright" Arden suggested to her as leaving the civilians undefended would just be creating more victims

"I don't understand your sense of protection for them," Vesryn replied, her head tilting to the side slightly. "They have done nothing to elicit such kindness." The Queen clearly disliked him, and she was sure she wasn't the only one. It was a broken Kingdom; their prince might open his big mouth and get the rest of the caravan killed, so there was no guarantee of their survival once Arden splits off from them.

Arden raised an eyebrow at Vesryn and shrugged "it feels like I owe the old king this much after all he did for me, to save all his people I can, besides according to you they're my blood, and all that, I doubt they see me as.kin, but where I'm from we honor our blood ties, so there you go." He explained all this to her

Huh. They were like polar opposites; Vesryn certainly wouldn't feel is owed her king if she were in Arden's position - he was dead, after all, it wasn't like he's going to know - but then again, he wasn't a father figure to her. Though... she wouldn't honor her own father once he dies. "We are very different people," She noted, though it seemed more like she was talking aloud to herself.

"Indeed" Arden smiled at her cheerfully,  he had already realized this, and pointed out to her " the best teams are opposites after all, both have strengths to compensate for the other's weaknesses."

She nodded slowly, a slow smile forming."Someone has to make sure you don't blindly trust everyone you meet."
