Handling the Problems at Snowy Mountains

Post by Koyu on Thu Mar 08, 2018 12:26 pm

The group had been transported to the base camp at Snowy Mountains, this area was not as cold as the coldest areas are much higher so there was little snow on the ground and the small lake here was not frozen at all. But the caves were cold as ice coated the place and the higher you go the mountain is covered in snow and the cold wind freezes anything in its path.

Skar knows a lot about the area, since it is not like his home village has not send him gathering Mountain Herbs and cull the Khezu population every once in a while. So the lower areas were populated by Popo and Anteka, tunnels were populated by Giaprey and higher areas are usually filled with Blango.

Valeia was getting ready to travel outside the camp, she looked at Skar and spoke. "Guessed as much, so... I guess you should be the leader of this hunt, give us a tour and what not eh?" She said mildly jokingly, having everything packed up.

Valeia then just shrugged and looked over to Mewfin. "Hey, you done? So we can explore the area and handle the Lagombi together." Valeia asked Mewfin, she wonders if climbing the mountain was going to be tough.

Mewfin lowered her ears and refused to speak, as she didn't want to. She glared a little and yawned a little, she was tired.

Valeia looked at Mewfin and spoke. "Hey, are you alright?" She asked immediately, Mewfin wasn't acting as her usual self.

Mewfin sighed deeply at her master. "Can we not rest a little bit?" she asked curiously.

Valeia looked at her and spoke. "Did we not rest enough when we used the carriage to get to Pokke Village?" She questioned, they had plenty of time to have a small break then, the village desperately needs their help and this was literally Valeia's calling. But she did not mind if Mewfin stayed back at the camp for a while...

Mewfin's ears lowered sadly at her master's words and she glanced towards the ground and sighed. "So you'll just treat me as someone only good at fighting just like that cook USED me?!" she said, tears in her eyes. "That devilish woman didn't let me sleep at all for 2 days and I need more rest than that!" she explained to Valeia. "But of course you wouldn't know that because you don't care." she added in sourly. The tiny Palico then stood up from her seat and began walking away, tears dripping onto the frozen ground.

Valeia just proceeded to facepalm, this Palico was starting to be more trouble than she was worth. "Skar, can you wait us? I think I need to go talk to her about... Things." She said getting a bit tired of this herself, hopefully Mewfin does not wander too far off into monster territory.

Mewfin just kept walking away, her different colored eyes blurry from the tears that they dripped onto the ground.

Valeia ran after her. "Hey wait Mewfin! Stop!" She shouted after her, they shouldn't be running off like this especially in an area neither of them know.

Mewfin stopped in her tracks and tears continued to fall to the ground and then she glanced towards Valeia, who she assumed badly "didn't care" what she went through at this point. "What do you want?" the Palico asked through her own sobs.

Valeia jogged close and spoke. "Mewfin, ask yourself, is this how a future 'Ace Palico' acts like? Did you make the right choice becoming a Palico? When you put your own feelings above a village in trouble? Look, I don't mind if you sit this one out, if you really are tired... I may act like a harsh employer, but your current behavior has me worried. I'm sorry, but this is my life, this is my job, I cannot back down from a job. Tell me, did I take you too soon? Am I wrong for focusing on my job?" Valeia asked, giving her a stern talk in the process.

Mewfin's eyes widened at her words and it made her feel a little more sad - because now she was mad at herself and sad about how she treated Valeia. Her eyes flickered and glanced at the ground, flicking from side to side - as if she was in deep thought. She was thinking about it, for she always had this look on her face when she was thinking about something. "I.....I don't know." she answered.

Valeia speaks more. "Come on, let's go back to the camp. We can discuss more later, you can stay at the camp for this round. Right now, we really need to get rid of that Lagombi so the villagers can get back to picking up Mountain Herbs." Valeia said and she started walking back to the camp, she made sure Mewfin was following.

Mewfin sighed deeply and followed after her, on all fours this time. She glanced around for the other Felynes - but for some reason they all had vanished. She wondered if there was a crazy Palico lady around here. (Get it? XD)

(Why?)

Back at the camp, Valeia wondered if Skar was still here or if the man had gone on his own.

Mewfin would stay near Valeia but waited for whatever Skar and her would meet about. While she waited she groomed her hands/paws to make her pelt nice and clean again.

Valeia was glad Skar was still here, the fact he waited for them surprised her. "Yes, it is. So we can hunt the Lagombi now, let's get going!" Valeia said with a small smile trying to be motivating to the group.

Mewfin sounded really scared but was forced to follow. She ran after them on all four legs and wondered what would happen if she fainted.

Re: Handling the Problems at Snowy Mountains

The foot of the mountain had this beautiful lake, a little further along the shoreline was a pack of Popos eating the grass as there was little snow on the ground so it did not cover the entire landscape. There was a small climb to a small elevated area with a cave entrance, but then again on the left side was a path leading a little up to a climbable wall to get higher but also a cave entrance further up as well plenty of snow.

Valeia took a few steps forward and spoke. "Do we use the cave or do we just climb up to the mountain?" Valeia asks Skar who was native to these parts, as far as Skar knew both paths lead up. The cave most likely was infested by Giapreys but climbing the mountain side might make them run into Blangos, both small monsters so nothing too threatening.
